Daren & Hilton // Engaged!

Manhattan was the perfect backdrop to capture the love of Daren and Hilton. Not only did I make pictures with this incredible couple, but their family as well!

Daren's Mom Yvonne, their son Jacques, and adorable dog Peanut all joined us at their home in the Financial District. What a beautiful family, inside and out. Thank you for having me document your bond, and congratulations on this new chapter in your lives.

Leah & Alex // West Side Jewish Center

Being asked to document the wedding of someone you have known since you were eight years old is a very special and meaningful request. Leah contacted me this summer and I am incredibly happy I was able to photograph the start of her and Alex's life together.

I can easily sum up their wedding in three words: love, laughter, and dancing! 

A big thank you to my second photographer Cherylynn Tsushima, who joyfully danced the night away with her camera to capture some great moments.

Apollo Theater // James Brown: Get On The Good Foot

Last month under the Apollo Theater Education department, I had the opportunity to capture a Family Showtime performance featuring excerpts from James Brown: Get On The Good Foot – A Celebration in Dance. Presented by the Apollo Theater, this vivacious and soulful production made me want to abandon my Saturday night plans and come back to enjoy the evening performance without a camera in front of my face!

Event // Morningside Lights Annual Procession

This year the Miller Theatre at Columbia University presented the 2nd annual Morningside Lights, a weeklong project which invites the community to participate in a series of workshops that teach how to create handmade lanterns and musical instruments to be used in a procession of public art at the end of the week. 

It was fantastic to capture the process from start to finish, and I was blown away by the artistry of all involved!
